Joseph Rozman

Artist Biography:

(1944, Milwaukee, WI - )

Joseph J. Rozman graduated with his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin (UW) in 1967 and his M.A. from UW in 1969.

Rozman taught film at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (1969), printmaking for a children’s art program at the Milwaukee Art Museum (1968 – 76), and art at Carthage college, Kenosha, WI (1969 – 1974), Layton School of Art and Design, Milwaukee (1973 – 4), and Mount Mary College, Milwaukee (since 1975). He worked as a visiting lecturer in art at the University of Wisconsin – Parkside, Kenosha (1970 – 1), University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (1972 – 3). He was also an artist in residence for the University of Wisconsin Platteville (1983).

He was awarded the Logan award and prize at the Art Institute of Chicago (1966), Main award in painting from Lakefront Festival of Arts (1977, 79, 81, 82), the John G. Curtis Junior prize from The Art Institute of Chicago (1981), and 12 awards from Wustum Museum Fine Arts (since 1975).
