Hulda Rotier Fischer was a well know Milwaukee, Wisconsin artist and art teacher at Shorewood Opportunity School for 30 years. Equipped with a home studio, she exhibiting widely from the 1930’s well into the 1950’s. Fischer studied at the Milwaukee Normal School under Robert Von Neumann and Carl Holty. In Provincetown, Massachusetts, she studied under Hans Hofmann. She taught art in Milwaukee at the Shorewood Vocational School. 
 
Fischer has incorrectly been described as married to the Milwaukee artist Peter Rotier (1888-1963). Peter Rotier was actually Hulda's cousin - not spouse. She married her husband Sylvester Fischer on May 1, 1912. Together, they had one daughter - Genevieve Fischer
 
Hulda Fischer participated in Wisconsin's WPA project and a Member of the Milwaukee Art institute. She was especially profient as a Block / Linoleum Cut Printer, Ceramicist,  Lithographer, Oil Painter and Sculptor.
