Reed Michael Jones lives and paints in Madison, Wisconsin in a neighborhood of beautiful and architecturally significant homes that inspires him daily. His artistic influences and interests are many and varied, but the challenge of painting realistically and expressively has become his life’s focus after a long career in the Graphic Arts.

Reed paints anything that captures his imagination and promises to expand his skillset. He enjoys working with landscapes, cityscapes and dramatic figurative work. The interpretation of a scene is the most important thing to him – he obsesses over the details that allow his vision to transfer from his mind’s eye to canvas. Each discreet area within a complex scene on a large canvas is an opportunity for him to communicate this vision. No detail is too big, or too small. Everything must work together to serve the narrative of the whole.
