BORN: 1897 in Hannover, Germany

DIED: 1979 in Brookfield, WI

Also known as William F. Anders, Willi studied at the Arts & Crafts School in Hannover, Germany  from 1912-1913. He came to Milwaukee in1928 and in 1933 he was a student of Robert von Neumann at the Layton School of Arts.

Anders became a U.S. citizen in 1936, and was an artist and draftsman for the Allis-Chalmers company for 19 years, retiring in 1963.

Member of Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors, Milwaukee Prinmakers, and Wisconsin Artists Federation. He exhibited widely and won numerous prizes for his paintings and prints.
