This painting features a typical farm yard with a red barn, and a sole white chicken. It was painted toward the end of the 1930s when Schomer Lichtner, Ruth Grotenrath, Charles Thwaites, Joe Friebert, and HS Moynihan would gather some money for gas and head north to the Kettle Moraine area for a day of painting.
This painting was featured in the Wisconsin Masters Series" Exhibition: H.S. Moynihan 1902-1994.
Exhibition held from Dec. 16, 2007 - Jan. 20, 2008 at Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee.
Purchased directly from Paul J. Moynihan (son). Painting is unsigned, but COA by son is included.
