Painted in 1918 while Sinclair served as an ambulance driver in Italy and Austria.
Label verso reads:
33. The English move down from Assiago to the Piave.
Compared to the Italians, These English were spic and span. Everything was orderly. While they marched they sang "Fours Right and Left Turn" What do you do with the money you earn? Oh oh, oh what a lovely war!"
Appears to be gifted to Morley Hicks in 1943, and he framed it in one of his hand made frames, with his carved name and 1942 date on back.
