the "frame" is actually a separate, painted piece of masonite floating above painting, just like a real frame.
At first glance it appears to be a "normal" frame, but from the side, you can see its just two pieces of masonite.
Very clever, frugal, creative way to frame a beautiful Ruth painting.
Painting is initialed RG and dated'45 bottom right corner.
