Simply WOW!
Nine decorated and glazed ceramic tiles assembled into a wooden case/frame.
Tiles are decorated with two of Schomer's classic stylized cow designs in the center, two more cows on the bottom, along with 4 flying birds at the top, and flowers scattered all around.
When assembled over all, I see a heart formation in the center design - perhaps created as a gift to his wife Ruth Grotenrath? Back is painted with Schomers classic orange/red color paint, and is signed Schomer Lichtner in pencil along with his iconic triangular cow symbol.
This most probably was a piece created for the home or farm of Schomer and Ruth.
Piece is heavy, and does not appear to be designed to be hung, although it probably could be. I think it would be best on your fireplace mantel or display shelf.
